Carpet Cleaning

Clean your carpet with the help of Click CleaningIf you’re tired of seeing the carpets in a less than ideal state and you’re sick of smelling that stale odour, then these tips are ideal to use when wanting them to look and smell brand new.

It will take a while, especially as you have to wait for solutions to get to work and wait for the carpet to dry, but the results are well worth it. These tips are great to incorporate into the care of your carpets.

It’s always best to begin your cleaning job with a good vacuum as this will ensure all of the loose particles are collected, but make sure you begin with an empty vacuum bag. Now you can begin to clean:

•    Pre-treat carpet stains with a carpet stain remover. You normally have to leave the solution for approximately 5 minutes, but always make sure to follow the instructions. After the solution is soaked in take your hand brush and begin to scrub in all directions (gently) to lift the stain.

TIP: Don’t scrub vigorously as this could cause the carpet fibres to wear out quickly.

•    After tough spots and stains are taken care of, use a mixture of carpet and fabric detergent with water, then follow the products instructions. Again you tend to have to wait for approximately 5 minutes.

TIP: Next you need to change the solution to plain water. Before you do this lay some towels on the carpet to soak up any excess soap and prevent it from getting dirty again.

•    Go over your carpet with water and leave to dry naturally. Don’t use a hair dryer to dry your carpet as this will only set in the solution.
•    Once it’s dry, vacuum one more time

TIP: The best form of carpet cleaning is prevention, so after you have vacuumed apply a carpet protector. This will not only defend your carpet from future stains, but it may also help prolong its life.
